Is hurt keeping you away from God? Where do you hurt and how are you treating it? Most people, if not all, have been deeply hurt by someone’s actions or words. Yes! You’re not alone in your current state of hurt and pain. Or, perhaps you feel hurt by God himself. Maybe God let you down. Maybe He didn’t answer your prayer. Maybe you lost someone you loved deeply.
Hurt wounds the soul. A wounded spirit is difficult to bear. God knows you. He knows every thought you have. It might be difficult to trust Him when you feel you have been betrayed by him. But God will heal your broken heart and will bind up your wounds. Healing begins when you permit God to heal you, it is a choice for you to make. You make the decision to go to the doctor when you are sick. When you show up in the doctor’s office you have made the first step to wellness. When you go to God in prayer you’re telling Him, “I have come to be healed!”
But you can hide your symptoms from the doctor. Some hurt leaves you ashamed and exposed so that you want to hide your hurt from God. When you hide from God, it is difficult for Him to administer His healing grace. The hurt may have stripped you of good things you used to enjoy. But God wants to restore you. The Lord Jesus Christ identifies with all your hurts and wounds, because He was wounded, bruised, and betrayed but his wounds have power to heal you. His hurt has power to restore you. Today you are healed of every hurt! “for I am the LORD, who heals you."
What Does GOD Say? “He heals the broken hearted. And binds up their wounds” (Psalms 147:3 NKJV) “...for I am the LORD, who heals you." (Exodus 15:26 NIV )
Other Verse: Psalms 6:2;Hosea 14:4;Isaiah 53:5;Jeremiah 17:14
